Simple Theme Update + Rambling

For a while, I've been wanting to have another theme for the site. I do like my other green one, but I feel like this one featuring my fursona captures my vibe a little better. I want to have a theme changer, but I have no idea on how to implement that. I tried to do it the other week, and I just got lost in my code and it wasn't working. So until I find out how to make a theme changer, this will be the default theme of my website. In the future, I plan on making another theme that features my character Jynx! He was orignally the little mascot of the site (and I still do consider him the mascot), but I wanted to switch things up for when I updated the layout. Plus, the assets I have for him for the site are outdated and I haven't drawn any new ones since. (If you remember/have visted my site before), you would know that I had a header image that featured him on it. I had 2 headers, and both were made in 2022. These drawings were pixels and in my old artstyle. So, basically all I'm trying to say is...Jynx theme comeback soon!

Layout Change?!

Well, it looks like I've updated my layout once again and...changed the main character?! Don't worry though, Jynx will still be around! You can see him above.

So obviously I've changed the layout, but no, it is not mine! I took this layout from Cinni. I used this layout back in 2022 because I sucked at making my own layout. In 2023 through early this year, I attempted to create my own layouts. I kept them for awhile, but I eventually got tired of it because turns out I still suck. CSS is not my strong suit it seems like. But, from using layouts and adjusting them and picking code from various sources, I will say I've learned quite a bit. In the end, I'm tired as hell after working on this for hours. I'm not even completely done either, I need to fix some pages still.

New Stuff

I've updated my art pages, I've added new characters and I've redone the Flash animation pages. I also added a new page for my photos. As of now, there is nothing in there. I've redone quite a few things!

I'm back on Neocities

So...I kinda regretted moving to Nekoweb. Not because I hated it, but just because I missed Neocities and didn't adjust to Nekoweb that well. Sure, having freedom with file types was nice, but I just could not for the life of me get used to editing on it. I didn't realize how used to Neocities I am until I tried using Nekoweb. I didn't update my site much while I was there. So, yes, I'm back, and expect more updates. :)

There is now a lyrics page for my music!

Since I have some songs that have some lyrics to them, I decided to go ahead and share them here! I'm still nervous about putting up the versions of my songs where I sing them. Because I'm insecure about my voice, especially my singing voice (I am not good at all I'd say). So until the day I decide to put out those versions comes, the way the lyrics are sung are up to you! Check it out now!

I've decided to bundle all of my MIDIs together so they are easily accessible for anyone who wants to hear all of my MIDIs, but doesn't want download them all indiviually. I also threw in some extras for fun. :) Since make MIDIs a bit often, the link will be updated each time I make new MIDIs. So if you see a new MIDI, feel free to download the MIDI and add it to the current year folder. I always keep my earlier versions of my songs, so if you want to also hear the demos of my new MIDIs, you can download the file again and just delete your old download. :)

Yet. Another. Layout. Update.

I know I said I'd stop, but I just started to feel like the old layout wasn't it! So....I got to work and made a new one! I think this layout will last longer than all the other ones. So far, I'm pretty happy with this one. That doesn't mean I won't touch it up or tweak it a bit though, because well, I'm never happy XD.

I made a pretty bold decision today, I updated the site's name. "heart-soda.neocities.org" is no more! It's been 2 years with that name, but I felt like it needed a change. I wanted something simple, so it's now going to be my online name. This was a bold decison because it will break my search results, but it's alright. I have some more updating to do now, like updating all the graphics with "heart-soda" on them and some text on the site. This doesn't mean my site is going to take a whole different direction, it's just a rebrand. :)

Another update...and yes, I updated the layout, AGAIN. I think that this is the last layout update. I'm perfectly fine with this, I have it exactly the way I want it, and it's not extremely annoying to me. I was going for a 90s website layout type thing, and I think it worked well. Yes, I used tables... I no longer use a seperate style sheet for the CSS and it's not extremely complicated, like it used to be for me. Though, my HTML files look really long and cluttered now... Oh well, that's the fun of it, isn't it? I didn't get to update any of the pages of my characters yet, since I am way too lazy to update the layout on every single one of them, I already spent alot of time updating the main parts of the site.

Besides the whole layout thing, I have another, indirect update. I am probably going to start updating my diary more. I feel like I completely abandonded it and I want to add some stuff to it. I also will probably get a little personal too! (Not too personal though. Not sorry if you wanted me to add all my life details in there!) So yeah, I will use my diary to you know, talk about stupid things. You know, things about my crush, and stupid things my friends and I did at school. Just basic teenage girl diary entries. I'm also looking forward to making more art and music to put on the site too, so look out for those!

I updated the site again, 2 months later! I updated literally everything this time. CSS, layout, all of that! My site feels so much more organized now. I deleted alot of files that weren't even necessary to have at all, and now my dashboard is very neat. :)

I'm pretty happy with the outcome of the site now, I really wasn't happy for the past 2 years! All because it felt unorganized and messy, and that I had been relying on layouts and CSS from others. I feel proud of myself for using my own CSS and making the site more neat and organized! I think it's pretty safe to say I'll now be using this site more often by adding more into the music and art pages. :)

I don't think anybody would notice, but I removed "Soda-Archives." It was where I would store stamps, dividers, blinkies, stamps, and graphics. I removed it because I honestly felt that it was pointless to have. I still have the files, so if anybody wants "Soda-Archives" to have a comeback, let me know I guess.

Another personal update, not a website update, sorry!

But anyways, I basically havent done much on my site lately, but there is a reason for that. I've been out of school for awhile so I've been just chilling around and stuff and I just didn't find much time to do stuff with my website and I havent made much art or music. Im currently working on a song right now and I feel like Im almost done with it but im not happy with it yet :( and I keep forgetting to work on it sometimes. Also I might write more in my diary maybe.

This is more of a personal update than a website update but I am kinda "grounded" im not supposed to be on the computer right now but my phone is taken because I missed my bus today this morning so I wont be doing much on my site and stuff so expect no new art, music, and site updates for a while. So yeah, that happened. It sucks. Oh well.

I didnt do much this time, I just created a whole different thing for my guestbook, so the guestbook is now seperate from the chat box. So they are both on the guestbook page now. I honestly cannot wait to get out of school so I can update my website more. Hey, this sounds almost like a diary, maybe I should update the diary page a bit.. hmm..

I just updated alot of the site. I gave the Soda-Archives and the music page and art page archives new CSS. I also switched up the look of the homepage a bit and moved the guestbook away back into its own page instead of it being in the index and its own page at the same time. I also added this updates page to the index along with a "latest artwork" thingy. I removed stamps and >blinkies from the navigation and moved them into the Soda-Archives. This all took awhile but I am pretty happy with how it all turned out! So thanks for reading the first update I guess lol
